locr Wraps Up Successful Series of Fall Events

Press release from the issuing company

Braunschweig, Germany – locr GmbH, (www.locr.com) the world’s leading provider of personalized maps and geolocation services, today announced the conclusion of its successful fall event series. After participating in events in the US, the UK and in Europe, the company reports that it has advanced partnerships with industry leaders, increased its presence in new regions, and generated new business opportunities.

Rolf Richter, locr CEO commented on these events by saying, “Our team was literally spanning the globe this fall, attending conferences in locations all over the world. These events helped us to foster better relationships with our industry partners, including XMPie and GMC, and to explore new opportunities at events with Oce/Canon and Kodak. Best of all, the events educated print and marketing service providers on the value personalize maps can add to the marketing campaigns they create for their clients.”

At each of these events, locr highlighted its latest developments in the area of personalized maps. locr’s static maps enable print and marketing service providers to easily include personalized maps in all forms of marketing communications – print, email, pURL, mobile, web -  using only the recipient’s address. The company also showcased the release of video maps. Like the static maps, video maps use only the recipient’s address to create a pURL or QR code that takes the user to a personalized video map that is engaging, informative, and unique to that recipient.

Spanning The Globe
In September, locr exhibited at the PRINT 13 tradeshow, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The event was a continuation of locr’s expansion in the US market, and it gave the company an opportunity to talk to print and marketing service providers based in the US.  In addition to exhibiting, locr also presented in the theatre of the Marketing Pavilion and at the GMC User Conference.

Randy Hardy, locr’s US-based business development person, commented on the tradeshow, saying, “PRINT 13 was very well attended, not just in terms of numbers but also the quality of people attending. I talked to many print and marketing service providers and several of them all ready had ideas for how personalized maps could help them serve their clients. It’s exciting to see how this technology is taking off in the US.”

Following PRINT 13, locr attended the 2013 PODi European AppForum where the company presented as part of its  "Where in the World?" Conference Agenda.

Tony Hodgson, the Director of PODi in Europe, says that he invited locr to speak at the event because of the way the technology uses location as the basis for personalization. Tony says, “PODi created the “Where in the World” conference to help marketers not only understand geo-location marketing, but to see first-hand the impact geo-location can make on their marketing efforts. locr showed how their personalized map technology is used in retail and loyalty marketing to great effect.”

From PODi, we flew off to Canon/Oce event in Germany. This event was held from September 30 to October 2 in Poing, close to Munich. These events gave us the opportunity to meet with a focused group of users and hear their ideas for using personalized maps in their campaigns.

Finally, on October 3, we flew to Geneva for the 2013 Graphic Users Association European Conference. The GUA Community is a worldwide, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering users of Kodak Solutions with the tools and information to be successful. At the GUA event, we presented how personalized maps can help to make direct marketing campaigns more successful.
