Vase Manufacturer Chooses Color-Logic Colors

Press release from the issuing company

West Chester, OHWarrenshaw Ltd., a British manufacturer of flower vases, relies on Color-Logic to ensure that its products exhibit color consistency across the entire product line. Warrenshaw manufactures flower vases using MirriNor metallic T-Flute microflute corrugated material, which provides high strength and light weight, and is 100 percent biodegradable. Because Warrenshaw required that vases be available in a number of colors, trade UV printer Oriel Printing Company-a licensed Color-Logic printer in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire-used the Color-Logic Process Metallic Color System to provide their client with 250 metallic color options. Using the system, Oriel produced their own swatchbook of metallic colors, using their B1 Heidelberg printing press with UV inks and lacquer. Based on the swatchbook, Oriel clients are assured that the color requested will be the color of the final product, without pressroom trial and error testing.

Commenting on the application, Color-Logic Chief Technical Officer Richard Ainge said: "Although many licensees use Color-Logic software to dramatically simplify the production of decorative effects with metallics, our Process Metallic Color System also provides 250 predictable and reproducible colors. The Color-Logic system is the only commercially available process for metallic substrates. Licensed Color-Logic printers produce their own swatchbooks, using files we furnish, to demonstrate to graphic designers exactly what they can expect from the printer's press. We are pleased that Warrenshaw used several of the 250 possible metallic colors produced by Oriel on MirriNor substrate."

Also commenting on the project, Barry Shaw, Managing Director of Warrenshaw Ltd., observed: "We wanted a highly decorative, lightweight yet tough product that is environmentally friendly. The vase colors were chosen from the 250 metallic colors shown in the Oriel Process Metallic swatchbook. For us, the vase colors were very important, and the Color-Logic system enabled us to realize color consistency across our entire product range."
