Folding Carton Boot Camp Scheduled for November 12-13, 2013

Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, MA - On November 12-13, 2013, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) will host its popular Folding Carton Boot Camp workshop at PPC headquarters in Springfield, MA.

The Folding Carton Boot Camp is ideal for anyone new to cartons—even if not new to the industry—as well as non-plant personnel with limited experience outside a single plant operation. The course is designed to provide its alumni with a better understanding of the products and services their companies offer.

Training follows the entire folding carton production process. First, instructors explain how fiber is recovered and paper is made. Next, industry experts describe the uses of various inks and coatings as well as the processes involved in prepress, including CAD, layout, and graphics. Then there is an overview of the tooling, embossing, foil stamping, stripping, finishing, gluing, and windowing processes. The workshop concludes with an assessment of automated packaging equipment.

At the conclusion of the 2-day workshop, participants are awarded a certificate of achievement.

The Folding Carton Boot Camp is open to PPC members, brand-owners, and non-members. To register or for more information, call Michelle at 413.686.9191, email [email protected], or visit www.paperbox.org/bootcamp.
