Colter & Peterson Focuses on Automated Finishing Solutions for SGIA Expo

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Improving production time on the finishing end of projects can save any size operation time and money.  Colter & Peterson (booth 2365), the largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment in North America, will feature three such solutions at the SGIA Expo, to be held October 23-25 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Microcut® back gauge computerized retrofit kits are adaptable to any brand or size paper cutter from 20 to 150 inches, including Colter & Peterson’s outstanding Saber® and Prism® series of paper cutters. It programs a job while cutting the first lift, making automation effective for two or even three lift jobs.  The Microcut system also boosts productivity by delivering reliable and precise cuts for a fraction of the cost of a new machine.  Easy to operate, they are designed for years of trouble-free service.

Over 30,000 installations around the world have taken advantage of the automated process that Microcut BASIC®, Microcut JR® and Microcut PLUS WS® provide.  Each system memorizes the cutting sequences instantly so the back gauge automatically positions itself for each individual cut.  This information is stored indefinitely and can be recalled quickly at the touch of a button.

A large, multilingual display helps the operator navigate the programming sequence simply and quickly.  The current back gauge position can be displayed in inches, centimeters or millimeters, depending on the operator’s choice.

The Microcut Plus WS system offers a few additional benefits.  A full-color, 12” wide format touch screen helps guide the operator with all operations presented in an intuitive, easy to understand format.  Programs can be uploaded from a network connection or with a USB device using CIP 3/4 files.  No additional hardware or software is necessary.  For more information, call Bruce Peterson at (800) 932-0780 or visit www.papercutters.com.
