Dynamic web finishing solution gives customers more flexibility

MELVILLE, N.Y. – Canon Solutions America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will showcase Chameleon – a UV Coat application – from EMT, International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of web-based processing and finishing systems, at PRINT 13, held September 8 -12 at McCormick Place South, Chicago.

In operation for over 70 years, EMT is a solutions-driven business focused on designing and manufacturing high-speed web finishing lines and web transports for the digital and offset printing markets. The company’s Chameleon line – which can be utilized for either UV or Aqueous coating applications, pre or post printer – combines reliability with digital flexibility to create a win for customers.

Unique Coating Application
Customers can benefit from EMT’s Chameleon line since it not only offers a cost savings in reduced coating usage over conventional roll coating systems, but it also enables custom design flexibility.

“Our Chameleon line provides high-quality gloss ‘POP’ to color applications typically seen in direct mail and advertising pieces,” said Louis DiNafo, digital market solutions manager, EMT International, Inc.  “This allows for selectable coating coverage by application, including matte finishes for a subtle image enhancement and protection of the printed piece through the mail-stream which gives customers more options.”

EMT’s inline modular plug and play interface allows for seamless integration of EMT coating sections to run inline or near-line. The system also utilizes anilox roll technology to minimize coating waste and maximize operator efficiency.
