Global manufacturer is demonstrating its commitment to the packaging industry with revolutionary press technology designed to deliver both quality packaging and cost efficiencies. Muller Martini is exhibiting in Booth #6954 at Pack Expo 2013 in Las Vegas in September where they’ll present a variety of flexible packaging solutions which enable printers to manage ever-changing production demands and formats.

One press in particular, the Variable Sleeve Offset Printing Press (VSOP), is quickly becoming a powerful complement to traditional flexo and rotogravure processes, and the company reports that there are currently 100 VSOP installations worldwide. The VSOP allows printers to cost-effectively change images, a welcomed benefit as brand managers increase SKUs in order to satisfy consumer demands for greater choice. The VSOP is an extremely versatile press and can print on a variety of packaging applications, including shrink sleeves; wet-glue, wraparound and in-mold labels; food packaging pouches and bags; lidding films, foils, and laminates; and folding carton and liquid packaging printing.

The new generation VSOP web offset printing press also features a number of functionality and operational advancements, including a modular design philosophy which enables flexible machine configurations for a wide range of hybrid packaging printing applications, including flexo, gravure and offset printing, with solvent and/or UV or EB curing ink processes. This is in keeping with Muller’s business-building “investment protection” pledge which allows components to be added to the machine as opportunities arise and budgets allow.

Muller Martini packaging product specialists will be on hand in Booth #6954 to discuss the entire packaging line, which also includes the Alprinta web offset press. The Alprinta is particularly effective when tackling the intricate formats found with pharmaceutical inserts, most featuring an extremely large amount of information in an ultra-compact design. The Alprinta easily handles countless folds and scores, specifications that provide challenges when produced via traditional sheet-fed methods. Also part of Muller’s packaging technology is its Concepta press which offers superior print quality and convenient operation, and can produce even the smallest job cost-effectively.
