Canon Solutions America Demonstrates Mondi Media at PRINT 13

By WhatTheyThink

Melville, NY - Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will showcase high-speed inkjet media from Mondi at PRINT 13 at McCormick Place South in Chicago, September 8 -12.

Visitors to Canon U.S.A. booth #502 will have the opportunity to see, feel and take home samples of a full-color Fraggle Rock comic book printed on Mondi DNS high-speed inkjet NF (natural feel) and DNS high-speed inkjet CF (coated feel). The book, produced on the Océ ColorStream 3700 printing system, was chosen to show customers a relevant, full-coverage example that depicts real-world printing.

The two high-quality, high-speed inkjet papers – evaluated by Canon Solutions America – further expand the breadth of media for the Océ inkjet platforms, giving Canon Solutions America customers even greater flexibility in their paper choices and further increasing the types of applications that can be produced.

“It’s all about bringing more choice to the customer,” said John Crumbaugh, media and ink marketing executive, Production Print Solutions division, Canon Solutions America. “Through this strategic partnership with Mondi, we are able to offer an ever expanding choice of printing papers that are optimized for Canon Solutions America inkjet printing systems, such as the Océ ColorStream and JetStream.”

Mondi papers are available in a wide range of basis weights, allowing use across multiple print environments. The treated, uncoated inkjet papers have been used extensively in transactional print, books and direct mail – any application that requires full-color printing. Mondi has recently opened a U.S. office and will be showcasing its products and programs at PRINT 13.

Optimized for Océ equipment
Mondi is one of the leading inkjet uncoated paper mills in Europe, where its papers have been tested extensively on Océ ColorStream and JetStream printing systems. In fact, many of the Mondi inkjet papers were developed in cooperation with the Canon research and development, and production facility in Poing, Germany.

"Canon Solutions America and Mondi have had a long relationship in Europe,” said Daniel Herzka, strategic consulting executive, Mondi High Speed Inkjet Roll Program. “We look forward to bringing the same great press results to Canon Solutions America customers in North America.”
