IDEAlliance Specifications for Mobile, Web, and Video Content Posted for Public Comment

Alexandria, VA IDEAlliance® is announcing a final call for public comment for three draft specifications for mobile, web, and video-based content creation, development, and distribution. The industry comment period, begun in August, will close on September 20, 2013 for the following specifications; OpenEFT, the first open format specification for the exchange and rendering of enhanced tablet publications, HTML Ad Guidelines, addressing HTML ad creation and performance, and Video Distribution of Enhanced Tablet and Mobile Publications.

OpenEFT Draft 3, V1.0

OpenEFT is the first open format for the exchange and rendition of magazine and other highly-designed, interactive content on tablets and mobile devices.  The 3rd Draft of OpenEFT V1.0 was posted for public comment on August 31, 2013. Specification can be downloaded at http://www.openeft.org. Send comments in email to Dianne Kennedy by September 20, 2013.

HTML Ad Guidelines V1.0

HTML Ad Guidelines, developed by the new IDEAlliance eMedia21 London Working Group, is a draft set of general guidelines for the creation of HTML5 ads. The guidelines address file structure and encoding and provide best practices for use of interactive elements, including video, audio, fonts, images, and hyperlinks, as well as ad performance and analytics. A Publisher’s Guide to Strategy and Practices
 
The IDEAlliance Enabling Video Enhancements (EVE) Working Group was formed to develop specifications, strategies and best practices for publishers moving from a standard print production environment to new workflows that must address the creation, management and distribution of digital publications enhanced with video. One deliverable from that effort is this Guide to video distribution for tablet and mobile publications. This guide can be downloaded from http://www.idealliance.org/specifications/eve.
