Progressive Impressions International (Pii) Chooses MCS

Press release from the issuing company

GAITHERSBURG, MD - MCS, Inc. is pleased to announce that Progressive Impressions International (Pii) of Bloomington, Illinois, recently added another MCS Eagle UV Inkjet to their impressive equipment line-up.

Established in 1993, Pii is a marketing company with expertise in personalization and targeted campaigns. More than half of Pii's clients are Fortune 500 companies, including seven of the top ten insurance companies in the United States. Pii's flagship product, Conductor, is a web-based tool that enables a company's distributed sales and marketing people to choose, personalize and send marketing campaigns to selected prospects and customers. More than 100,000 sales and marketing representatives use Conductor to order anything from newsletters, greeting cards, calendars, and all forms of direct mail.

Pii is an aggressive user of MCS equipment. The Company has been expanding their business due to the growth of their clients, and Pii has assembled an arsenal of MCS products to support this growth. Currently, the installation includes:

8 - MCS Perfect Match Camera systems
3 - MCS Eagle inkjet printers (water-based)
2 - MCS Eagle UV inkjet printers
4 - MCS Array inkjet printers.

Tim Henning, Operations Manager, commented on how the MCS equipment is being used: "We're producing about one million pieces per day. We have single match read-and-print operations using the MCS Perfect Match Camera systems, in-line with MCS Eagle inkjets and Pitney Bowes Flowmasters for closed-faced #10 envelopes. One of the off-line MCS Eagle UV inkjets is dedicated to single-piece postcards. We even address lenticular postcards on the Eagle UV inkjet - the print quality is good, there is no dry-time, and the ink doesn't smear," asserts Henning.

The result is that Pii sales reps are confident selling the Pii suite of tools, because they know that the direct mail pieces will match up perfectly, and that the equipment can handle the high volumes and quality the client requires.

Progressive Impressions International continues to invest in MCS Eagle equipment for several reasons: "First, the inkjets have higher up time," says Henning. "There is little or no maintenance, and we save on ink. The operators like the software and they like running the equipment. But more than anything, we believe MCS is truly an engineering company. We get that feeling from their sales people as well as their technicians. Working with MCS is like working with NASA - when something goes wrong, everyone pitches in and tries to fix the problem, like a scene from the movie Apollo 13. They always back us up."
