Visit CMYK Distributors’ at Print ’13 for Demonstrations of Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System

Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, MA CMYK Distributors, Inc., the exclusive U.S. distributor of Filter Klear Fountain Filtration Systems by Keystone Corporation, a Met-Pro company, is pleased to announce that they will be demonstrating the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System in their booths, 969 & 970, at Print ‘13 in Chicago, IL on September 8 – 12, 2013.  Utilizing advanced nanofiber technology featuring ceramic nanofibers on a micro-glass matrix, the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System provides outstanding reduction of calcium, virus, bacteria, cysts, endotoxin and many other submicron particles through both electro-adhesion and mechanical processes, filtering particulates down to .002 microns.

While the terms nanotechnology and electro-adhesion can be intimidating and give an initial impression that customers will be faced with a complicated process and a huge learning curve, the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System is actually extremely intuitive and straightforward.  At Print ’13, visitors to the CMYK Distributors’ booths 969 & 970 will have a hands-on opportunity to explore the simplicity of the Filter Klear solution.

Consider this: a typical medium to large press operates by mixing 30 – 60 gallons of clean water with fountain solution and alcohol substitutes each week.  The purpose of the fountain solution is to maintain the cleanliness of the metal plates used to hold ink and to ensure the proper transfer of ink onto a sheet or roll of paper during the printing process.  The efficiency of any pressroom relies heavily on the cleanliness of the press.  Usually, a pressroom will allow ink and paper dirt to accumulate in the fountain solution tank for approximately 5 days, at which point the contaminated water is released down the drain or emptied into a drum for proper disposal.   If we estimate a tank size of 40 gallons, that means that the average pressroom is dumping approximately 200 gallons of contaminated water, along with expensive fountain solution, each week.  This equates to roughly 800 gallons per month and up to 9,600 gallons per year.   Between the cost of chemicals, the time spent cleaning the tanks, and the environmental impact of properly disposing of waste water, there is a clear need for an affordable solution that minimizes press downtime and is effortless to operate.  The answer is the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System.

By incorporating Filter Klear into the press room, users can virtually eliminate tank and pan maintenance and significantly reduce their consumption of fountain solution.  The filter cartridges on the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System contain the dirt in the water and maintain the balance of the chemistries used on the press, also known as “conductivity.”  Simply put, the Filter Klear system serves as a constant safeguard against dirt and contaminants from the incoming water, ink, paper, etc.  Benefits include:

  • Zero Discharge; Zero Waste of Incoming Water
  • Outstanding Reduction of Calcium and Other Submicron Particles
  • Biofilter Technology (cuts odor and bacteria)
  • Reduces Press Downtime and Maintenance
  • Decreases Fountain Solution Consumption and Disposal Costs
  • Cost effective
