Totalpost Celebrate at Queens Award Presentation

Press release from the issuing company

Totalpost Services Plc was presented with their Queens Award for Enterprise certificate and commemorative bowl yesterday at their head office in Alston.

Lord Lieutenant for Cumbria, Claire Hensman presented the award in front of 30 or so staff, press and stakeholders.

Totalpost was granted The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in April this year in recognition of their impressive growth in manufacturing and exporting over the last 3 years.

Since receiving the award Totalpost has experienced a 20% upsurge in business. Additionally they have increased their staff numbers by 25%.

The company, which has offices across the UK, in Europe, South Africa and the USA, were selected because of their accelerated growth within the franking machine ink cartridge production industry for which they are now one of the leading manufacturers of compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges in the World.

Yesterday’s event was a culmination of activity around the achievement which has included an official reception at Buckingham Palace, an exhibition at the BIS offices in central Sheffield, and a videoed interview with the Queen’s Award office to help them with promotion of the awards.

Speaking at the event Claire Hensman said: “You’ve all done an amazing job and this doesn’t happen over night. For Alston and Cumbria this is extremely good news, it’s lovely that we have some manufacturing here. You’re creating new jobs, you’re training the next generation, and it’s all very exciting so please keep it up.”

In a passionate speech David Hymers, Managing Director at Totalpost recognised the hard work and commitment of his staff saying: “You are a brilliant, brilliant team and I am so proud of you all. It’s been a rollercoaster since the award was announced in April in which we’ve opened offices in France and South Africa amongst others. Thanks to you all for keeping up with the pace and working so hard, it’s been phenomenal.”
