Mike Burgstein Named Director of International Relations for GOA

Press release from the issuing company

Miami, Florida, November 6, 2003 – Printing Association of Florida (PAF) President/CEO Michael Streibig today announces the appointment of industry veteran Mike Burgstein to the newly created position of Director of International Relations, Graphics of the Americas (GOA). Streibig says this is the first in a series of expansion moves PAF is taking to fulfill GOA’s growing international presence. PAF owns and manages Graphics of the Americas, the Americas’ largest international publishing tradeshow and conference. 25,000 attendees are expected to attend Graphics of the Americas 2004, being held January 22-25 in Miami Beach, Florida.   “Mike has been a member of the GOA Trade Show Council for four years and his input and assistance have been invaluable. We are pleased to have an individual of Mike’s caliber working with us.  His expertise, relationships, and stature in the International Graphic Arts Community, especially Latin America, are real assets for GOA,” says Streibig.   In his new position, Burgstein will work closely with Chris Price, GOA’s Vice President, to raise the organization’s level of service to its growing number of international guests. Streibig adds that the appointment will allow Price to focus even more closely on managing the steadily increasing North American activities and attendance at GOA.   Burgstein was the former Market Development Specialist for Sun Chemical Latin America and is a veteran of over 40 years in the Graphic Arts Industry.    Sharing Streibig’s respect for Burgstein is Curt Kreisler, President of Gold Star Printers in Miami, and Chairman of the GOA Trade Show Council.  “Mike has been a strong contributor to the Council, and I look forward to working with him in his new capacity.”    Chris Price adds, “It’s great to have him as part of our management team.  Mike has agreed to take a greater role with Latin America as well as internationally, which is extremely important to the success of GOA.”   Burgstein graduated from graphic arts school in Vienna, Austria in 1959. He worked in prepress reproduction until joining Dupont Photoproducts in 1974 in a Marketing and Technical capacity. He was responsible for Latin America and South East Asia including China. Mike worked from 1981-1985 as Technical Manager in the development of proofing and photo electronic products. In 1993, he took an early retirement option. After private marketing consulting, he joined Sun Chemical Latin Export America as a consultant for special projects throughout the Latin American region, where he continued to work until early 2003.   Graphics of the Americas 2004 takes place January 23, 24, and 25 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. TrendVision, the two day, high-powered strategic conference hosted by the world’s biggest names in publishing, is being held in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas, on January 22 and 23.
