November 7, 2003 -- QuadCreative Group, Quad/Graphics' design subsidiary, has landed a prestigious American Graphic Design Award (AGDA) for excellence in communication and graphic design. The award actually recognizes an entire body of materials - including sales materials and a Web site - the group designed to help market Quad/Photo, Quad/Graphics' in-house network of creative, full-service photography studios. Building a Web presence Quad/Photo's Web site (http://www.quadphoto.com) went live in February 2002 after market research and user testing conducted by QuadCreative helped determine the site's content, architecture and navigation. The result is an artistic, engaging Web site with intuitive global navigation. Built to be visually appealing, the Web site features the latest Flash animation technology. More importantly, the Web site is functional, giving clients access to a suite of Web-enabled tools (a.k.a. Smartools) designed to help creative professionals run their businesses more efficiently and become increasingly involved in photography sessions and Quad/Photo's creative processes. Quad/Photo Smartools include StudioVue, which allows a user to proof images from their desktop, and PhotoTrack, which lets catalogers track valuable products as they’re shipped to and from photo shoots. Print, customized For its print marketing materials, Quad/Photo required a design that would put the right image in the right hands at precisely the right time. In response, QuadCreative came up with the perfect design solution: a customizable package consisting of a large branded folder capable of housing various combinations of a number of coordinated pieces, including brochures and customer case studies, as well as hand-selected images. QuadCreative also designed CD and e-mail templates for electronic image transmission. About the American Graphic Design Awards The annual American Graphic Design Awards, now in their 24th year, are sponsored by trade magazine Graphic Design: USA.
