Exstream: DataProse Speeds Time to Market with Dialogue Software

Press release from the issuing company

November 6, 2003 -- Exstream Software, Inc. announced today that DataProse, Inc., a leading provider of direct mail and billing statement services to municipal and private utility companies, financial services, retailers and telecommunications providers, is using its Dialogue software to meet customer demands for faster turnaround. Dialogue is making it possible for DataProse to reduce development time for complex applications, like personalized transactional statements and direct mail, from three months to three to five days. DataProse reports it is now able to process documents five times faster, which dramatically affects turnaround time. The company has also reduced staffing requirements from eight programmers to four, in spite of an increased demand for customized documents. DataProse selected Dialogue for its high performance engine, which processes communications up to 80 times faster than other products, its ease of use and its ability to deliver complex communications through multiple delivery channels. With the support of Dialogue, DataProse is able to significantly enhance the workflow for its three million documents per month.  “Dialogue has made such a positive impact on our business. Everything the software has to offer has made us faster. For example, we can now accept virtually any input stream--from print image data to XML--and integrate it into our systems and processes. Our clients are able to log in over the Internet and plug in the messages and criteria they want, and Dialogue handles the logic and document creation seamlessly,” said Fred Fleet, vice president of operations for DataProse. “Making changes is incredibly easy, as well. Because our applications are extremely complex, it used to require a major programming effort to make simple revisions. Dialogue allows us to make changes in a matter of minutes or hours, instead of days or weeks. Quite frankly, Dialogue has kept us in business. Without it, we wouldn’t be competitive.” Dialogue’s Campaign Management and Advanced Tables modules allow DataProse to provide clients with transaction-driven statements that are personalized with targeted marketing messages, graphs and charts at run time. Additionally, Dialogue’s ability to create fully composed PDF files is making it possible for DataProse to post files on the Internet for secure client review and approval. “With time to market being so critical in today’s business world, the fact that DataProse is gaining a competitive edge using Dialogue is very satisfying,” said Davis Marksbury, president and CEO of Exstream Software. “The ability to create a more meaningful product for customers, along with improved workflow processes, is at the heart of what Dialogue is designed to deliver. We are pleased that DataProse is taking full advantage of that.” About DataProse: Launched in 1989 by Xerox veteran, Glenn Carter, and Kinko's founder, Paul Orfalea, DataProse Billing Solutions produces and presents billing statements on the web or through the mail for municipal and private utility companies, retailers and telecommunications providers. DataProse maintains secure production facilities in Dallas, Texas and Oxnard, California. Contact: Jill Tauber (805) 604-1012 [email protected].
