Muller Martini to showcase its extremely versatile packaging press solutions at this year’s CPP

Press release from the issuing company

Global manufacturer making a strong commitment to the industry with revolutionary press technology designed to deliver both quality packaging and cost efficiencies.

Muller Martini will have a separate booth display at the Converting and Package Printing Expo (CPP) held during this year’s Print 13 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Muller offers a robust variety of flexible packaging solutions that enable printers to successfully compete in this dynamic market, while providing brand managers greater production efficiencies.

One press in particular, the Variable Sleeve Offset Printing Press (VSOP), is quickly becoming a powerful complement to traditional flexo and rotogravure processes. Located in the Muller Booth #1281 will be an impressive working model of the machine which will demonstrate its game-changing sleeve technology. What sets the VSOP apart from traditional packaging presses is its unique ability to cost-effectively change images. That’s becoming an ever-more critical factor as brand managers seek to satisfy consumer demands for more personalized choices.

What’s more, Muller Martini can combine the VSOP with in-line web processing capabilities such as die-cutting and hybrid printing, as well as engineer and configure systems with offset, flexo or rotogravure units to handle very complex packaging. That makes the VSOP a very powerful, complementary technology for packaging companies that utilize dedicated and less-flexible high-volume systems.

Also on display in Booth #1281 will be products manufactured by the VSOP, including shrink sleeves, wet-glue, wraparound and in-mold labels; films, laminates and food packaging; and folding boxes, liquid packaging and carton printing.

Commented Gary Hughes, Muller’s Director of Global Packaging, “With over 100 installations worldwide, the VSOP is becoming a real player in the packaging industry, particularly because of its ability to cost-efficiently handle image changes. Packaging will continue to re-invent itself, and Muller Martini is committed to helping package converters successfully compete on a level playing field no matter what formats present themselves. And that’s really the message we’re sending by having a dedicated, separate booth in the CPP section of Print 13.”

Muller’s packaging product specialists will also be on hand to discuss Muller’s entire packaging line, which includes the Alprinta web offset press. The Alprinta is particularly effective when tackling the intricate formats found with pharmaceutical inserts, most featuring an extremely large amount of information in an ultra-compact design. The Alprinta easily handles countless folds and scores, specifications which provide challenges when produced via traditional sheet-fed methods. Also part of Muller’s packaging technology is the Concepta, which offers superior print quality, convenient operation and can produce even the smallest job cost-effectively.

The Converting and Package Printing Expo (CPP) takes place at Print 13, September 8-12, 2013, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Muller Martini’s engineers and product specialists will be on hand in Booth #1281 to speak with packaging converters about Muller’s innovative presses that are designed to efficiently handle next-generation packaging demands.
