SALT LAKE CITY – Onyx Graphics, Inc., today announced that Jeffrey (Jeff) L. Despain has been named Director of Research & Development. Jeff oversees the engineering teams dedicated to producing the company’s market-leading workflow software products including ONYX^® Thrive^TM print workflow software; ONYX ProductionHouse^TM, ONYX PosterShop^®, and ONYX RIPCenter^TM RIP software; and the SmartApps^TM line of plug-ins.

Jeff comes to Onyx Graphics from Digital Gateway, a business management and enterprise resource planning software company where he served as Director of Product Development and Solutions Architect. Prior to that, he was the Owner and President of OutSoft Development, a provider of software development vendor services with several clients currently on the Fortune 500^® list of America’s largest corporations. Before OutSoft, Jeff consulted as a Senior Software Architect at HP’s Boise division where he supervised software partner integration programs for HP’s first line of multi-function peripherals. He has also held software development and engineering positions at KWI, Micron Technology and Intel Corporation.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Weber State University. He is based at Onyx Graphics headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT.
