FASTSIGNS® MetamorphoSIGN Contest Preparing for Voting Stage

Press release from the issuing company

Conneaut Lake Park, 2012 Winner, Celebrates New Season with Updated Signs and Graphics

CARROLLTON, TexasFASTSIGNS® 2013 MetamorphoSIGN program has collected 571 entries from businesses and organizations seeking to win one of three visual communications makeovers. Voting begins July 8 and runs through July 26.

As voting kicks off for the 2013 MetamorphoSIGN contest, the brick and mortar category winner from the 2012 contest, Conneaut Lake Park, a 120-year-old historic amusement park, recently opened its gates for the 2013 season, greeting visitors with fresh signage.

“The goal for the park was and is to continue being revitalized, while maintaining the rich history and nostalgia that has made it so loved,” said Drue Townsend, Senior VP of Marketing for FASTSIGNS International. “FASTSIGNS of Erie, Pa., which was the FASTSIGNS location elected to complete the makeover, wanted to help the park with so much that the owners generously chose to donate an additional $10,000 toward the makeover. So, in total, Conneaut Lake Park received $20,000 in new visual communications.”

Conneaut Lake Park’s visual communications challenges centered mostly on the need to update some of their key older, worn out signs, while maintaining its personality and attracting new visitors. To accomplish this, their MetamorphoSIGN makeover included a refreshed roadside sign, new informational and directional signage for the Midway, and a new Park map sign.

The 2013 season also marks the 75th anniversary of the park’s famous Blue Streak roller coaster, the 17th oldest wooden roller coaster in the United States. To help commemorate this, FASTSIGNS used banners and pavement graphics to promote the ride.

Just as in 2012, there will be three winners of this year’s MetamorphoSIGN contest, chosen by online votes. One makeover valued at $10,000 will be awarded to a traditional brick and mortar business, one makeover valued at $5,000 will be awarded to a nonprofit organization and one makeover valued at $5,000 will be awarded to a vehicle-based business. Visitors can vote on an entry within each category, each day, through July 26. The entry in each category with the most votes will win and will be announced August 15.
