International Paper and Warren Board announce extended cooperation for UK market

Press release from the issuing company

Brussels, Belgium – International Paper, the world’s largest paper and packaging company, has announced that it has agreed an extended cooperation with Warren Board Sales Ltd., a leading UK and Irish market independent cartonboard and graphical board stockist.

The partnership will see Leicestershire-based Warren Board stock and distribute various International Paper manufactured cartonboard products sourced from their European and US manufacturing facilities. Brands such as Everest® (SBS), Carolina® (SBS), Arktika (GC1) and Alaska (GC2) will be available for sale through Warren Board, with future developments of speciality boards likely.

Having worked extensively with International Paper’s SBS brand Everest® in the past, this latest arrangement will see Warren Board stock and distribute Carolina® C1S and C2S grades.

Carolina® C1S and C2S, are one and two-sided coated solid bleached sulphate boards, suitable for printing applications such as greetings cards, book covers, direct marketing materials, brochures, catalogues, annual reports and all kinds of luxury packaging. Carolina® is produced by International Paper in the US.

Carolina® is an excellent choice, with exceptional brightness and whiteness values, making the printed products that it is used for truly stand out with a top-range, high-quality look.

In addition, Warren Board will also distribute the high quality folding boxboard products of Arktika and Alaska, produced at International Paper’s Polish mill in Kwidzyn with focus on the Pharmaceutical, Confectionery and Cosmetics segments.

International Paper’s Commercial Director for Coated Paperboard & Recycled Specialities, Michael Krüger, stated, “This cooperation will offer customers access to a range of coated board qualities produced to the highest environmental standards by a truly global manufacturer which will meet the majority of print and converting applications today.”

He continued, “International Paper has been working with Warren Board for approximately 15 years, and the strengthening of this partnership will help International Paper develop its coated board presence in the UK and Irish graphical and converting sectors and provide a more comprehensive service and value proposition to these markets.”

Commenting on the announcement, Warren Board Sales Ltd. Managing Director, Kieran Ferguson, stated, “Having enjoyed an excellent relationship with International Paper for many years, I am delighted to extend our partnership even further with the addition of these high quality carton and graphical board products. We look forward to establishing these new ranges in the UK and Irish markets in much the same way we have with International Paper’s packaging grade, Everest. International Paper’s world class manufacturing capabilities combined with Warren Board’s renowned service will provide for a much better choice in the graphical and converting sectors.”
