Friday, June 28, 2013

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA, Ga. – Albany International Corp. will launch the TAPPISAFE safety orientation program for their domestic sales team in North America. TAPPISAFE, a service of TAPPI offered in partnership with Alliance Safety Council, provides a standardized safety orientation program and is the only safety orientation program specifically designed for the pulp and paper industry by the industry.

“The TAPPISAFE program provides Albany International with a proven safety orientation system that will ensure our entire sales force will have the same safety orientation,” states Albany International’s Ken Walker. “The safety of our employees is of primary importance when working at any customer facility as well as one of our company locations. TAPPISAFE not only covers common basic safety but also reduces the amount of time our sales force in the field invests in redundant orientation.”

Founded in 1895 Albany International is a global advanced textiles and materials processing company headquartered in Rochester, New Hampshire that operates 18 plants in 11 countries and employs 4,000 people. The machine clothing company is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts used in the production in the paper, nonwovens and other process industries.

Key aspects of the program include: standardized courses that help reduce redundant and potentially costly safety orientations, up-to-date OSHA compliance information, and instantly verifiable records. TAPPISAFE Programs also include; PSM (Process Safety Management), Truck Driver orientation and Employee orientation.

The Alliance Safety Council has over 20 years of proven success in developing, delivering and maintaining contractor safety orientations and has administered more than 1.2 million training units nationwide.
