Fastest In-line Laser Die Cut Solution For Fastest Digital Inkjet Label Press Is Available From Durst and Spartanics

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y – Durst, a leading manufacturer of industrial digital printing platforms, and Spartanics of Rolling Meadows, Ill., have teamed up with to offer high-speed, in-line laser die cutting with the 13-inch Durst Tau 330 UV inkjet digital label press, the companies announced today.

In-line die cutting increases efficiency by eliminating production steps; for example, retrieving a digital image from an electronic file and finishing it to a ready roll can be completed in a single pass.  Laser die cutting eliminates conventional plate or cylinder costs, lowering materials waste and reducing time lost to changeovers and job set-up.

Unlike other in-line solutions, the versatile Durst and Spartanics systems can be operated as a fully integrated in-line solution, or as completely separate off-line systems.  Importantly, the laser die cutting solution from Spartanics can easily match the Durst Tau 330’s “best in class” maximum print speed of 157 linear feet per minute, along with supplying converting options to produce a completely finished product.

A fully functioning Durst Tau 330 UV Inkjet Digital Label Press with Spartanics’ in-line digital laser finishing system will be demonstrated in the Durst booth – #9H57 – at Label Expo ’13 in Brussels, Belgium, September 24-27.

The Durst Tau 330, designed for short- and medium-run narrow web applications, covers print widths up to 13 inches at print speeds of up to 157 linear ft./min. Production capacity can reach 10,220 sf./hr.  Sharp, precise, “best in class” image quality for today’s most demanding jobs is made possible thanks to Durst’s proprietary, single-pass UV inkjet technology featuring Xaar 1001 print heads.  This technology delivers an apparent print resolution more than 1,000 dpi.

Cost-effective operation and high profitability are the result of the Tau 330’s use of affordable inks, its ability to print on standard as well as specialty label substrates, and its solid construction that enables reliable 24/7 operation.  Built-in maintenance functions like automated print head cleaning help to increase performance and hold down time to a minimum.
