Standard Register Launches New Natural Finish In-Mold Label Product

Press release from the issuing company

Revolutionary Naturals product creates new, high quality natural finish customization options and at lower price point

DAYTON, Ohio - Standard Register today launched IML Naturals, a new in-mold label (IML) that more effectively replicates the look of wood and metal on injection molded plastic products. InNaturals, Standard Register combines intellectual property with extensive IML expertise to create an alternative, cost effective and durable way to replicate natural surfaces. This enhancement offers manufacturers the ability to combine in-mold decorating with low cost molding resins to create high quality, natural finishes such as wood grain or stainless steel. The result is a quality, realistic looking part at a fraction of the cost.

Naturals in-mold labels are an expansion to all Standard Register IML products including Grafilm® and Grafilm® Ultra, valued by manufacturers for production flexibility and high durability. This product expansion features numerous finishes including multiple wood grains, stainless steel, chrome, brushed nickel, brass and carbon fiber. Use of the product can dramatically improve costs for manufacturers while improving the perception of their products and their brand in their respective markets.

“The Naturals product is a revolutionary approach for manufacturers and molders to gain the look of popular natural finishes,” said Joe Klenke, senior vice president, Strategic Development. “Until now, manufacturers have had to use real metals and woods or expensive laminates to achieve a high quality look. With Naturals, manufacturers gain the sought-after custom appearance with the option of using low cost molding resins to achieve substantial cost savings. Our clients can grow sales by providing the high quality look of stainless steel or chrome at lower price points. Our ability to add variable printing allows products to be personalized, creating new types of customer value in industry segments such as sporting equipment, computer accessories and small appliances or home goods.”

The addition of Naturals further enhances Standard Register’s Product Marking and Labeling solutions that provide manufacturers a brand-centric, agency-compliant solution for production parts across the U. S. and Mexico.
