Media Asset Management Innovation: SixOMC 9.4 Released

Press release from the issuing company

Six Offene Systeme announced the new Release 9.4 of the highly successful Media Asset Management System SixOMC. A completely novel feature is the web-based proofreading management tool for distributed environments and its seamless integration into the Adobe Welt. The entire production process for both advertising materials and job printing is supported, documented and automated. Create jobs more easily, quickly find contents and process media assets faster: numerous enhancements assist in optimizing the production process.

Silvia Cunningham, Product Manager SixOMC, summarizes: "Increased productivity thanks to new and revised tools and a continuous workflow management during the production of advertising materials were the primary objectives for SixOMC 9.4.“

Users will primarily profit from the completely new proofreading management tool. If in the past, dealing with comments and changes was characterized by many media discontinuities, time loss and scant overviews of the status and number of proofreading cycles, SixOMC 9.4 digitally supplies all parties involved. From the browser on up to InDesign, all parties are integrated via their own work environment.

On the basis of the high-resolution print PDF, corrections can be captured in the browser and relayed to the graphic designers directly in InDesign. If necessary, all parties are automatically informed of the status and content changes. An intuitive user prompting, revision security and distinct differentiation of cycles round off the possible applications.

In addition to the expanded job type concept, in SixOMC 9.4, jobs can now be entirely managed in the web client. SixOMC automatically performs recurring identical tasks such as automated keyword indexing of media assets, creating jobs from JDF files or importing job and customer data from other systems.
Innumerable small and large enhancements in the auxiliary modules of SixOMC enrich the release: The multi-site SyncServer is accelerated via multi-threading, the WoodWing plug-in provides a detailed search function and the enhanced rights management, all of which make SixOMC even more flexible.
The completely revised video management tool accommodates the trend of integrating moving images into digital end products such as apps or websites.

The new release is immediately available. In June, Six will host cost-free live webinars and update training courses detailing the enhancements.
