Tukaiz Honored with Four Great Lakes Graphics Association Excellence Awards

FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. - Tukaiz LLC, a results-driven marketing services production company, has earned four awards from the Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) Excellence Awards competition, one for each entry the company submitted. According to GLGA, nearly 1000 entries were submitted for 2013. The Excellence Awards are one of the largest print competitions in the nation. 

Tukaiz’ Heritage Calendar captured the Best of Category—the highest honor from GLGA—for its exceptional 12-page desktop design incorporating beautiful photography with image personalization, finished with Scodix digital print enhancing technology. The three elements integrated together create an extraordinary month-by-month experience. 

The additional three entries that received the GLGA’s Award of Excellence were:

  • Jack Daniels Tailgating Poster - The poster evoked the senses of sight and touch with its textural elements. Showcasing Scodix capabilities, a digital press that adds dimension and texture to images, and soft-touch technology, giving the piece a suede-like feel. 
  • 2013 Chicago ADDY Awards Program - Creatively constructed program book containing vivid photography and soft-touch printing technique combined with Scodix print technology.
  • “Touch of Boston” - Poster produced that resembled a baseball mitt with intricate die-cuts and true to life textures produced with the Scodix digital press.

The competition is judged by a group of objective print professionals with solid expertise in printing and print production. Judges take a meticulous look at each entry in the four categories with criteria that includes registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and difficulty of printing.
