A Successful Start for KBA at China Print

Press release from the issuing company

China Print 2013 opened its doors in Beijing on 14 May. As a world leader in the printing industry, KBA is presenting a raft of presses on its 1050m² stand under the banner sprinting ahead.

With a record-size stand at the trade show, KBA underscores the importance of the Chinese market and China Print as a key show for the printing industry this year.

As the leader in offset packaging printing, KBA unveiled the new large-format Rapida 145 for the first time to the Chinese market in Beijing as well as the popular medium-format Rapida 105. On day one live demonstrations of both presses attracted crowds of visitors. The fastest large-format press on the market prints high-quality posters and packaging jobs with fast changeovers and a production speed of up to 17,000sph. This highly-automated press is very popular with packaging printers.

The new Rapida 105 is based on the same technical platform as the high-end Rapida 106 press (max. 20,000sph) and is offered with a high-speed package for speeds of up to 17,500sph. The press on show at China Print, like the Rapida 145, is also a five-colour version with coater, extended delivery and special board-handling capabilities. New for the Chinese visitors is the ErgoTronic console with the option of integrated measuring technology ErgoTronic ColorDrive (automatic colour measurement at the console), a large wall screen and QualiTronic Professional for inline colour control and image inspection.

Additionally, print samples from the high-volume digital press KBA RotaJET 76 are also on display plus a complete KBA LogoTronicworkflow together with an MIS system from Optimus.
e signed for medium- and large-format KBA Rapida presses with more than ten printing companies. The Rapida 105-5+L showcased was handed over to Jinbei Printing as part of a ceremony. Founded in 1971, Hong Kong-based Jinbei Printing focuses on book printing with factories in Dongguan, Shenzhen and Fujian. At the beginning of 2013, Jinbei invested in two Rapida 105 presses, in the meantime one has already been installed at the company’s Dongguan factory. Yang Guoqiang, Board Director of Jinbei Printing, is pleased with the press and says “We are very satisfied with the high quality of KBA presses and this state-of-the-art technology. We are confident that we will benefit from this new investment”.
