Chesapeake Makes French Investments

Press release from the issuing company

Chesapeake Angoulême has installed a new Brausse hot foil stamping machine to offer its customers a greater range of carton finishes particularly suited to cosmetics and personal care products.

Fabien Chenudeau, Chesapeake Sales Director - France, stated "We understand that packaging is the key interface between personal care products and the consumer. If it is used effectively, it can play a crucial role in supporting a brand’s value. The Brausse machine will allow us to precisely control the foil blocking process ensuring it is in perfect register on every carton. Although, a choice of foil types will be added to most production jobs, we also have the flexibility to run the machine as a cut & crease press if necessary. The Brausse machine can also process a range of sheet sizes and material types.”

The installation of this latest technology at Chesapeake Angoulême also coincides with a new printing press at its St Pierre facility. The new Muller Martini Alprinta 74 web offset press will print patient-information leaflets largely for the healthcare market.

Fabien explains, “This is an exciting time for Chesapeake France. The new six–colour Alprinta press features UV curing and a non-stop rewinding unit. This allows us to offer our customers leaflets printed up to 6 colours on one face or up to 3 colours on either side of the leaflet.”

The St Pierre site is a sister site to Chesapeake Montargis which provides customers with the reassurance they enjoy security of supply. Fabien continues, “Our continued investment in next-generation production equipment such as the Alprinta 74 press and the Brausse hot foil stamping machine ensures that we will maintain and strengthen the service levels we deliver to our customers. This investment will significantly increase our capacity and ability, positioning both operations to benefit from further growth."
