Creo Announces 2-Sided Proofer

Press release from the issuing company

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- March 23, 2003 -- Creo Inc. is expanding its lineup of Integris(tm) Proofing Solutions with unique two-sided functionality for Integris 8-up devices and the addition of a desktop model. Integris solutions provide a full range of inkjet proofers that are tightly integrated with Creo color management and matched inks and media to deliver turnkey solutions fully supported by Creo, and with enhanced connectivity to Creo workflow systems. Proof Double-sided with Ease... Creo has engineered an innovative Double-Sided Media Guide as a user-installable add on to the EPSON Stylus PRO 9600 and 10600 printers that are featured in the Integris 800 proofing solutions. Two-sided imposition proofs can be produced quickly and reliably when the guide is used with Integris 2-Sided Matte 100 media. Tight back-to-front registration is achieved effortlessly. Creo engineered the Integris 2-Sided Matte media to minimize curl, cockle and swelling to deliver the feed reliability required for dependable print production. "It's a life saver," enthused Tracy Dragoo, color manager at Typecraft Wood & Jones of Pasadena, CA. "We do all our proofs double-sided. The media guide is amazing and well worth the money." The two-sided option can be installed by the user and retrofitted to existing Epson printers. Integris Desktop Targets Designers... Creo will introduce the Integris Desktop proofing solution for professional color proofing at Drupa 2004. The 2-up/4-up Integris Desktop proofing solution features the new 43 cm (17") wide EPSON Stylus PRO 4000 printer, integrated with Creo workflow and consumables for streamlined job control and end-to-end color management. Graphic designers will find the Integris Desktop optimal for achieving more predictable color earlier in the production process. Creative agencies will enjoy the Creo color performance as much as its small footprint. "The Integris Desktop is the ideal low cost remote proofing solution for achieving accurate color," explained Gil Rosenfeld, Integris product manager. "Efficient production is assured by integrating the Integris proofing solution with Creo prepress workflow systems." The Integris Desktop proofing solution produces extremely sharp text, and fine color blends at a maximum resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi. This model uses Integris-Qualified, Epson UltraChrome(tm) Ink for brilliant color fidelity with consistently stable colors. A wide selection of inkjet media that is fully optimized as part of the Integris Desktop solution is available, backed by diligent quality checks of each lot to ensure absolute proofing consistency. Integris Proofing Solutions... Integris proofing solutions produce calibrated, high-quality digital contone proofs that accurately and consistently predict the final printed job. The Creo Integris proofing solution family now features four qualified inkjet printers for a range of proofing needs: the Integris Desktop; the Integris 400 with the wide-format EPSON Stylus PRO 7600 for 4-up proofing; and two models of the 8-up Integris 800 with the EPSON Stylus PRO 9600 and 10600. Creo will demonstrate its proofing solutions at Drupa 2004 on the Creo stand, B10, Hall 4, from May 6-19, 2004.
