Packaging Graphics delivers the goods for top brands

Press release from the issuing company

Pawtucket, R.I. – Speed to market is more of a necessity today than a benefit, and the best printers making the grade are those who can deliver outstanding results under demanding conditions.  Packaging Graphics does this on a routine basis for its Fortune 100 clients, including a tenth anniversary package for a top performing brand.

Packaging Graphics was asked to design and deliver a custom package to retailers and big box stores for a popular personal care brand.  In less than six weeks, Packaging Graphics developed the 6-color package inside and out, produced and printed it using special effects, and delivered over 200,000 units throughout the U.S. ahead of schedule to mark the one-time occasion.

“Some of the relationships we have with our customers span 20 years or more because they know that nothing is impossible for us.  Our philosophy is it’s all about them and making their packaging standout in the marketplace, and it works,” said Greg Iannuccillo, Vice President of Sales for Packaging Graphics.

Iannuccillo says most customers provide specific directions for projects, but this customer gave some latitude with the anniversary packaging.

“We produced the design of the package in-house and created the inside packaging by developing a plastic tray to support the products.  Our customer supplied the graphics and this brand uses some brilliant colors, so we suggested adding a clear acetate window on the front for a better visual to entice consumers.”

Once the design was complete, the next step involved printing it on their 40-inch custom-built foiling press.   The unique 17-unit machine prints up to 10 colors and is equipped with a perfector, multiple coating units and interstation UV lamps.  Having the ability to eliminate multiple passes significantly reduces production time on press.

“For this package we used a matte finish and a UV coating, with in-line foiling that was embossed and die-cut,” recalled Iannuccillo.  “Cold foiling is a great way to grab consumers’ attention.  We usually recommend it for special situations such as a product promotional launch or for point-of-purchase materials.  It works really well during the holiday season when our customers look to have maximum impact with the consumer.”
