Gulf Coast Environmental Names New Vice President of Operations

Gulf Coast Environmental Systems, LLC (GCE Systems) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jay Swoboda to the position of Vice President of Operations, effective April 22, 2013.  Mr. Swoboda brings over 30 years of industrial management to this assignment.  He holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and graduated from the Strategic Marketing Program at Harvard Business School.  He has served in leadership capacities in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Sales & Marketing and General Management with companies such as KBR, VMW Industries, LeTourneau, Unidynamics, Sulzer, and most recently, Cameron International Corp.  This experience encompasses severe service and high reliability industries including nuclear remediation, military and defense, subsea energy, medical hyperbaric systems, helicopter refueling systems, pumps and rotating equipment and processing systems.  Notable projects include the automated cargo handling system at the Omniport facility in Houston, the first J-Lay pipe laying system in the Gulf of Mexico, patented computer-controlled pipe cutting machine, development of a split-body, pipe forge welding system and an automatic guided vehicle for non-invasive scanning of entire tractor trailers at customs locations. 

Previously, Mr. Swoboda and Mr. Ken Rogers, President of GCE Systems worked together to build the nuclear remediation business unit at Unidynamics.  This included establishing and qualifying an NQA-1 quality system and building strategic alliances with industry leaders such as Konecranes and Areva to provide nuclear handling cranes and nuclear shield doors to the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP).
