GMC Inspire 8.3 First Software to Meet All PODi PPML Formatting Requirements

Press release from the issuing company

GMC Inspire earns PODi certification for delivery of fast, accurate variable data printing

Boston, USA / Appenzell, Switzerland - GMC Software Technology (GMC), the award- winning leader in Customer Communications Management (CCM) and output management, announces that its PPML 3.0 formatter in GMC Inspire 8.3 has successfully achieved certification by PODi, the Digital Printing Initiative.

PODi’s PPML certification testing provides independent verification of compliance with the PPML/GA standard for variable data printing (VDP). Using GMC Inspire 8.3, print service providers working with organizations in the financial services, banking, insurance and healthcare industries can now be certain they can take full advantage of the high speed and accuracy that PPML was designed to deliver.

PPML is an open interoperable, device-independent standard for VDP that was developed by PODi and its member companies, including EFI, HP, Xeikon and Xerox. GMC Inspire is an integrated, variable document design and composition solution that enables users to create and produce high impact, personalized communications tailored to the exact needs and interests of a client. The software offers a single platform that can support an extensive range of transactional, promotional, trans-promo and on-demand publishing applications. GMC Inspire 8.3 PODi certification ensures efficient use of reusable data, as well as providing the ability to link to external data sources during the printing process. High-volume VDP files can be processed and output accurately at the fastest speeds possible.gm

“We are proud of the fact that not only has GMC Inspire achieved PODi certification, but also that it was the first software platform to do so,” said Pavel Verner, head of GMC’s Department of Quality Assurance. “Our goal in achieving this was to give print service providers who serve the financial services, banking, insurance and healthcare industries an effective tool to meet their customers’ stringent requirements when faced with diverse data streams and delivery options needed for converging variable data applications.”
