Sun Chemical's Streamline Inkjet Inks Meet Growing Market Demand

Press release from the issuing company

WEXHAM SPRINGS, UK - Sun Chemical is meeting the growing demand for reliable aftermarket inks with similar or better quality than OEM inks with its Streamline ESL HPQ and Streamline Ultima HPQ inks.

The new additions to the Streamline range, which provide high print head reliability and print quality, launched in July 2012 addressed the need for reliable aftermarket inks and consequently have shown a significant uptake in sales leads.

Designed specifically for use in wide format printers which use high-quality solvent based inks, the ranges were introduced following extensive customer feedback. In the highly competitive and rapidly moving industry, customer demand is changing on a regular basis and Sun Chemical's R+D team is continuously making improvements to product performance to ensure these demands are met.

Paul Smith, Managing Director, PrintBig comments: "I was nervous at first about using a third party ink as we'd tried one from another supplier previously on another machine and it didn't work out very well. However, as Sun Chemical is a well-known brand, when we were approached by a distributor and ran a couple of tests we decided to try out the Streamline Ultima HPQ system.

"Since we've been using the Streamline system, we've gone through a few litres and haven't seen any signs of change from the OEM inks. Previously 60-65% of our work was done with UV inks; now with the Sun Chemical system I'd say 60-70% of the work is with solvent inks because of the cost savings. Whilst using Streamline we've noticed that the adhesion is slightly better than the OEM ink and the drying time is shorter. The benefit to us is that there's no difference in the quality between the third-party inks and OEM, therefore we're getting the same quality for half the price."

Tony Cox, Business Manager for Digital Aftermarket, at Sun Chemical, comments: "It's great to see the Streamline ranges meeting the increasing demand of the print market. Both ranges were designed for the highest print quality and to meet the needs of this expanding market. To see the amount of new leads and positive customer service is a great result."

Sun Chemical will show further improvements to the Streamline range at FESPA in June 2013 on stand B20N.
