Press release from the issuing company

BEDFORD, MA, March 22, 2004 — Latran Technologies LLC, a leader in the industry's most advanced digital halftone proofing technology and a major provider of high-quality proofing systems to the high-end commercial printing market, has signed a dealer agreement with Anderson & Vreeland, Inc. (A&V), the leading manufacturer and distributor of flexographic plate processing equipment and materials. Latran's Prediction Digital Halftone Proofing System is now the primary proofing product offering of A&V. Howard Vreeland, Jr., Chief Operating Officer of A&V, noted, "Latran's Prediction Digital Halftone Proofing Systems represent a strategic fit into our extensive product line of the industry's finest flexographic equipment. With Prediction, we now have the most advanced, high-quality digital halftone proofing technology to offer our customers who now have, or are transitioning to a digital flexography workflow. Without a doubt, Prediction systems deliver outstanding quality proofs with the most accurate and consistent match to the extraordinary color-rich products you can attain with today's high-performance flexo equipment and materials." Dr. David McCarthy, Vice President and General Manager of Latran Technologies, stated, "We're delighted to have Anderson & Vreeland as a distributor of our Prediction Digital Halftone Proofing Systems to the flexographic industry. Over the last two years, Latran has experienced significant growth in installations of Prediction systems throughout rapidly expanding flexo markets such as high-quality package and label printing. We look forward to working with A&V as they introduce their customers to the Prediction systems and the productivity they add to the digital flexography workflow." Prediction proofs have earned acceptance from the FTA Color Management Committee, attesting that they adhere to the FIRST (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications and Tolerances) Color Standard. Adherence to the FIRST color standard indicates that Prediction proofs meet all the color matching criteria and procedure benchmarks established in the FIRST Program to assure repeatable and consistent flexo reproduction. The Committee's independent evaluation of Prediction proofs ascertained that the results obtained with Latran's digital halftone proofing systems accurately represented how the images would print on a flexo press. The FIRST Program was inaugurated by the FTA to provide the industry with a comprehensive guide for improvement of the flexo printing process through specifications and standards that support the consistent delivery of optimum results.
