Greenwich, CT – Presstek, Inc., a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, today announced Miami-based City Colors has acquired its third Presstek 52DI digital offset press. City Colors serves the printing trade by wholesaling business cards, postcards and more. The family-run business has 20 employees and has grown 25% per year since 2009.

City Colors has optimized its manufacturing process for its two primary products, business cards and 4"x6" postcards, which comprise about 90% of its business. Each Presstek 52DI press, combined with the company’s customized finishing lines, has the ability to generate 34,000 full-color double-sided business cards, from file to box, in 45 minutes. The configuration also allows production of 25,000 4"x6" two-sided postcards with each press in about an hour and 15 minutes, from file to box. "This type of productivity is almost unheard of in our industry," Infante adds. "There is no way we could produce these volumes or offer the kind of same-day service we do without the extreme automation and high level of quality delivered by our Presstek DI presses." 

The Presstek 52DI is an oversized two-page landscape format highly automated four-color digital offset press. The Presstek 52DI features support for 300 lpi and FM screening, 10-minute job-to-job turnover (including on-press plate imaging), and a small environmental footprint. The press prints up to 10,000 full-size sheets per hour on any offset stock up to 0.020" (0.5mm) thick.
