Kodak Sponsors 16th Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association Convention

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Kodak is a supporter and sponsor of the President’s Dinner at the Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association (FPPA) 16th Annual Convention, scheduled for March 3-5 at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Myers, Fla. During the convention, Kodak will showcase its broad portfolio of flexographic prepress solutions designed to help packaging service providers and flexographic printers increase print production capacity, while exceeding customer quality expectations. Dr. John Anderson, Kodak’s United States & Canada Packaging Segment Sales and Product Marketing Director, will speak at the convention, discussing ways businesses can address the common flexo printing challenges of ink transfer and consistency.

The FPPA convention includes a number of educational speaker sessions and presentations relating to this year’s theme, "The Changing Face of Corrugated—A Global View of Our Industry and Its Local Impact." Each year, the event attracts a number of graphic arts packaging professionals from the flexographic industry, including tradeshops, printers and converter companies, suppliers, academic institutions and trade press members.

Dr. Anderson’s presentation, entitled "Reinventing Flexo Ink Transfer, Pixel by Pixel," will be held on Tuesday, March 5, from 10:45-11:30 a.m. The presentation addresses the challenges of achieving brand color consistency utilizing traditional flexo prepress methods, and shares how the unique pixel-to-pixel imaging and flat-top dot plate technology employed by the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System and KODAK DIGICAP NX Screening improve the transfer of inks. Traditionally an Achilles heel for the flexo printing industry, issues with ink transfer have caused print inconsistency, pinholing, increased ink consumption and reduced line speeds. Session attendees will learn why this is no longer a challenge today.

Throughout the convention, FPPA attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about additional Packaging Products from Kodak, including powerful workflow solutions, integrated color management technologies, and proven proofing solutions that help printers enhance their capabilities and bottom line.

"The FPPA convention is a great opportunity to network with businesses to discuss the latest challenges and trends of the flexo printing industry. We look forward to listening to those challenges and sharing insights that might help packaging printers and trade shops find game-changing solutions for their clients," said Nick Brunk, National Sales Manager, Packaging Segment, United States & Canada. "If we can help the market harness innovative change to achieve their business goals, whether it is driving production efficiencies, increasing shelf impact or capturing new opportunities, then we all win together as an industry."
