Print Competition Introduces Several New Digital Printing Categories

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh Pennsylvania - Printing Industries of America is dedicated to providing members with opportunities that can help them succeed in graphic communications. With this forward-thinking mindset, Printing Industries has revamped its most prestigious international print competition to keep up with the digital technology boom. New for the 2013 Premier Print Awards competition, the On-Demand and Digital Printing category has been renamed and eight new sub-categories have been introduced.

With the updated digital printing category come more opportunities for the digital-savvy printer.  In the past, the On-Demand and Digital Printing category only provided three sub-categories for entry. Now simply called "Digital Printing," there are eight sub-categories: On Demand, Brochures and Booklets, Juvenile Books, Novelty Books, Cookbooks, Customized/Personalized/Variable-Data, and Campaigns.

"We expect this new category to provide greater opportunities for printers to showcase the amazing items they are printing on a digital press," says Lisa Rawa, Vice President, Marketing, at Printing Industries of America. "Not only do we anticipate a high-volume of submissions into the Digital Printing category, but also in other popular printing categories. Every year the categories that continue to receive hundreds of submissions include Magazine and Magazine Inserts, Booklets, Posters, Cards, Environmentally Sound, Web Press Printing, Cookbooks, and Calendars. The addition of the new categories, coupled with the other 100 available categories, will make for a very tough judging experience this year.

"Keeping up with the constant changes in technology, the Premier Print Awards competition continues to be at the forefront of print," continues Rawa, "What printers can produce these days is amazing, and this competition can help them show it off to the world."

Winners from this year’s Premier Print Awards Competition will be honored at the Premier Print Awards Gala Featuring the InterTech™ Technology Awards and web2awards, September 8, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois, in conjunction with PRINT 13. Here, attendees will have the opportunity to network with world-wide industry professionals and see the impressive Best of Category, or Benny-winning pieces from the competition on display.
