Taopix Portfolio Version 3.5 Released with Over 20 New Features

Press release from the issuing company

Leading photo book and gift software manufacturer, Taopix, today announced the release of Taopix Portfolio version 3.5.  With more than 200 enhancements and features, produced by the development team based at Taopix HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Taopix Portfolio has now been adopted by over 400 print service providers and pro labs worldwide as a photo book and gift design, file delivery and ordering tool. It is a true, end to end platform encompassing a fully-featured e-commerce platform with shopping cart and payment gateway integrations as well as a dedicated back-end production module to process incoming customer’s jobs.

One new feature within the Designer application is Straighten Horizon: a clever tool that allows the end user to straighten pictures that have been taken at a misaligned angle; previously this required photo editing software.  This feature, coupled with the greatly enhanced crop tool, means that straightening and cropping images has never been easier.

There are also many new business tools within the new version that allow the PSP to engage with partners to sell photo merchandise and track the origin of orders to award commission. These tools can also work for the retail sector whereby the origin of orders can be analysed by store location.

The new version also contains an External User Authentication API that allows Taopix customers and their brand partners to use a single database containing user login and password data to operate multiple platforms. The key benefit to the end user is that they can use one login and password to access their accounts within different systems.

Says James Gray, Taopix CEO “This new version is testament to our core beliefs – we want to give our customers the tools they need to be successful, both new software features for their end users and important business tools for them. Taopix Portfolio is not just a fully-featured design application for the consumer or photographer, it has to be backed up by robust features that help the PSP get to market and win business - features such as Gift Cards and Vouchers as well as data export to marketing engines and MIS systems. It has to deliver on all fronts and it does”.
