Kugler-Womako Shows Off EcoBinder at Paperworld 2013

Press release from the issuing company

Nürtingen, Germany - At Paperworld 2013, there was once again great interest in the award-winning products made on the EcoBinder binding machine from Kugler-Womako. Now, in the first quarter of this year, not only Europe but also the Asian market can look forward to the many diverse end products featuring the new paper binding.

From 26 to 29 January 2013 in Frankfurt, 83,600 visitors from all over the world attended Paperworld, the leading international trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationery (previous year: 86,500). The increased number of non-European visitors in particular emphasized the international significance of this fair and offered the exhibitors good prospects for export sales.

Albert Stitz, interim managing director of Kugler-Womako, who was able to record a gratifyingly large number of new contacts, sums up by saying: “One of the main trends at this year's Paperworld was sustainability. Accordingly, international visitors in particular showed great interest in the end products of our EcoBinder. After all, EcoBinder pads and tabletop calendars with their paper binding are 100% recyclable. That makes them a very attractive freebie, not only for companies with an ecology-minded approach.” Kugler-Womako showed what that meant with its complimentary trade fair gift, a tabletop calendar, produced at Paperworld and very popular among the visitors.

The new type of binding is not just absolutely ecological. It also offers some completely new marketing options. For example, each ring can be custom-printed with its own color design – the corporate logo, a slogan or pictures of products – and is visible at all times. These options also helped EcoBinder products to win the Promotional Gift Award in the category ‘Communicative Product’ in 2013. Indeed, jury member Michael Mätzener, of diewerbeartikel gmbh, chose the paper-bound spiral pads and tabletop calendars as his favorite products from a total of 233 submissions.

Not only that: the second generation of the EcoBinder, presented at Paperworld, can win customers over with faster production speeds. The higher productivity rate attained means that investments can be paid off more quickly and thus makes the EcoBinder interesting for smaller print shops and bookbinders too.
