OMNOVA Solutions Announces Price Increases in Emulsion Polymers for U.S. Specialty Chemical Markets

FAIRLAWN, OHIO – OMNOVA Solutions’ Specialty Chemicals business today announced a price increase of up to $0.08 per dry pound for all styrene butadiene emulsion polymers produced in the U.S. and up to $0.10 per wet pound for all acrylic and styrene acrylic emulsion polymers. Vinyl acrylic and vinyl acetate emulsion polymers will increase up to $0.03 per wet pound. In addition, Plioway® and Pliolite® resins will increase by up to $0.12 per dry pound. These increases are effective February 18, 2013 for all specialty markets including coatings, tape and adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles, construction, tire cord, and oilfield chemicals. This action is necessitated by the continuing escalation in the costs of key raw materials and is in addition to previously announced increases.
