PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP today announced at Hunkeler Innovationdays an expanded range of coated and uncoated papers using ColorPRO Technology. 

The new ColorPRO branded papers are optimized for use on HP Inkjet Web Presses and do not require the use of a bonding agent. The new offerings include a SAPPI Jaz Book Paper and a new relationship with Crown Van Gelder (CVG).

New media offerings add variety

HP is working with leading suppliers to expand the range of HP Inkjet Web Press-optimized coated and uncoated papers.

Designed specifically for publishing applications, the Jaz Book is an ideal choice for the education market. The Jaz Book is a low-weight, inkjet coated paper with a matte finish that features, high opacity, sharp text and smooth colors.

The new SAPPI Jaz Book paper with ColorPRO Technology is the result of SAPPI?s exclusive agreement with HP to develop inkjet coated papers for high speed inkjet printing.

The 67 gsm SAPPI Jaz Book paper is now available to HP Inkjet Web Press customers in Europe and Asia.

HP also announced CVG as a new partner to the ColorPRO program for uncoated papers in Europe.  CVG will provide a range of unique papers with different finishes using ColorPRO Technology.

Hunkeler Innovationdays attendees will see samples of the SAPPI and CVG papers at the HP booth.

The ColorPRO brand represents a quality standard for color excellence in digital printing, based on the use of a defined set of technologies, and meeting strictly defined performance specifications.

ColorPRO Technology will be found in products of third-party licensed partners. All materials that carry the ColorPRO Technology logo demonstrate visibly enhanced print quality. The products are optimized for the HP Web Press family.

At the 10^th annual Hunkeler Innovationdays, HP is demonstrating end-to-end publishing solutions for applications ranging from personalized direct mail and transpromotional documents to book and newspaper production. Highlights include an HP Indigo W7250 Digital Press running in-line with a Hunkeler POPP6 cutter/stacker and an interactive demonstration of HP T-series Color Inkjet Web Presses and HP Print Module Solutions. The combination of digitally printed publications with fast, efficient finishing enables publishers to react to market demands quickly.
