Goss International focuses on dialog with a diverse print community at Graphics of the Americas

For Goss International, this year’s Graphics of the Americas trade show (February 21-23, 2013) is dedicated to partnering with customers on leading solutions for newspaper, commercial and packaging applications. The Goss booth #715 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, will provide the platform for collaborating on a wide range of technical solutions designed for the specific requirements of North and Central American markets.
According to Ernesto Oliveira, vice president of Goss International in Latin America, Goss International’s leadership position in the Americas hinges on the attention given to open and substantial dialogue with customers. “This show is an important occasion in the process. Drawing attendees from over 90 countries including a large presence from southern U.S. states, GOA is a superb opportunity for presenting our latest developments and discussing their technical implications with international customers,” comments Oliveira.
For the newspaper sector, the most recent addition to the portfolio is the Magnum HPS press. The new model retains the simple single-width, one-around cylinder arrangement but has been modified to deliver high speeds and lower cost-per-page printing. Available with 546mm, 560mm and 578mm cut-offs, the new model is the latest evolution of the Community/Magnum platform and is capable of production speeds of up to 70,000 copies per hour.
For commercial applications, Goss International will highlight press models that are central to its leadership position in North and Latin America, including the Goss M-500, M-600 and Sunday presses.
M-500 commercial web presses feature proven technology to deliver high print quality, efficiency and reliability at up to 40,000 impressions per hour. Affordability and a straightforward design ensure that 16-page M-500 presses are easy to own and operate, and versatility makes them ideal for companies that rely on a single press to produce multiple formats and jobs.
As the world’s best-selling 16-page press, the Goss M-600 press has been incrementally enhanced and modified to ensure its continued position as the reference point for high-quality, low-waste print production. The latest generation M-600 press unveiled at Drupa 2012 features enhanced Autoplate technology, optional DigiRail inking, advanced workflow, presetting and “smart” inker technology all designed to minimize makeready time and waste.
Goss Sunday presses with gapless blanket technology and advanced automation remain the leading choice of customers in the region for high-performance wide-web production.
Emphasizing web offset as a compelling alternative for folding carton, flexible packaging, pre-print and label printing, Goss International has also recently launched its Goss Sunday Vpak press series. Based on the groundbreaking Sunday gapless press concept, two models feature quick-change blankets and printing cylinder sleeves to make ‘infinitely’ variable repeat lengths easy and affordable.
The Sunday Vpak presses provide the productivity and print quality advantages of web offset, along with high-tech inking and exacting control over presetting, register, color and tension. The Sunday Vpak 3000 is available in web widths of up to 75 inches (1905mm) to address the growing trend towards wider web packaging, while the Vpak 500 model is available in web widths of up to 41 inches (1041mm).
Goss International representatives will also be on hand to discuss the Goss Lifetime Support portfolio available via its network of sales representatives, engineers, technicians and service administrators strategically located across Latin America. These include enhancements, upgrades, training, spare parts and a comprehensive range of service opportunities specifically designed to extend the lifetime of each press.
