Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Kodak experts and customers will speak in several 2013 PODi AppForum sessions Jan. 28–30 in Las Vegas. Kodak is proud to be a supporter and Gold Sponsor of this years’ event. KODAK product experts look forward to highlighting ways that printers and marketing service providers can differentiate their services, overcome production challenges and achieve greater return on investment.

The PODi conference includes a number of educational sessions designed to help graphic arts professionals gain a better understanding of emerging technologies, growth strategies and innovative cross-media solutions.

“The PODi AppForum celebrates the accomplishments of the digital printing industry and facilitates many meaningful exchanges on what the future holds for printers,” said Jerry Miller, Kodak’s Vice President and Region General Manager of America’s Digital Printing Solutions. “Ultimately, we live in an increasingly digital world. Our industry’s technologies must support the evolving needs of printers and their client base. This is an ideal venue for printers to learn more about the newest business opportunities and how digital print solutions can be tailored to their business to accelerate profitability.”

On Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., Aaron Tavakoli, Kodak’s Worldwide Product Manager of Digital Print Workflow, will participate in an expert panel discussion about “e-Commerce, Web to Print, Automation.” Attendees will learn how to address the growing need for automation software and how to find the most feasible solutions for their business. Tavakoli and the other panelists will explain the key integration points needed to help improve production efficiency and discuss the ongoing maintenance requirements for automated software.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, the speaking engagements continue with discussions of emerging technologies and the future outlook of digital printing.

At 10:10 a.m., Anir Dutta, Kodak’s Future Product Marketing Manager, will participate in the “Future of Inkjet” discussion, where panelists will explain what print service providers should expect from current inkjet technology in terms of quality, speed, substrates and cost. The panel will identify and predict what advances are yet to come for inkjet.

At 11 a.m., Paul Schiller, Kodak’s Customer Marketing Manager, will address the “Future of EP—Electrophotographic Technology.” This panel discussion will review the recent innovations in electrophotography, including many of the recent announcements made during drupa 2012. In addition, panelists will offer insights on the best applications for EP presses today and what printers can expect from toner-based digital presses in upcoming years.

In the afternoon at 1:20 p.m., Katie Kriemelmeyer, President of Automated Graphic Systems (AGS), a data-driven communications company and Kodak customer, will give a speech titled, “Highly Variable Digital Inkjet Printing in Action.” Kriemelmeyer will offer attendees a firsthand look at how AGS tackled several transactional challenges and successfully provided a highly automated solution to an insurance industry client. Attendees will learn the ins and outs of producing and shipping documents within short turnarounds, the best practices for managing multiple delivery mechanisms and how AGS became HIPAA compliant. Kriemelmeyer will help printers understand how to effectively analyze failure points, adjust printing daily programs and seamlessly automate operations for enhanced efficiency.

“Printers are coming to the PODi AppForum in search of real-world, digital printing solutions that will grow their company’s bottom-line,” said Miller. “We sponsor the conference because it brings together the industry’s leading experts to share real-world application examples and the latest technology. There’s no doubt attendees will leave this conference with many new ideas and strategies.”
