All Lecta Group Mills Complete ISO 50001 Certification

Press release from the issuing company

In keeping with the commitment set forth in its latest Environmental Report, the Lecta Group has completed the energy efficiency certification process for all of its manufacturing sites during 2012.

ISO 50001 energy management certifica tion entails the implementation of an energy management system aimed at a more efficient and sustainable use of energy. Continuous improvement in energy performance contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and, consequently, limiting the environmental impact of the company’s business activity.

Lecta is one of the largest manufacturers of coated woodfree paper (CWF) worldwide and a leader in the European specialty papers market. It comprises three companies with a long tradition in their home markets: Cartiere del Garda in Italy, Condat in France and Torraspapel in Spain.

Currently, Lecta has 9 mills with a total production capacity of some 2 million tons and is recognized worldwide as a reliable, flexible and customer-focused supplier and partner.

Lecta is firmly committed to protecting the environment. All of our manufacturing sites have secured the strictest environmental certifications – ISO 14001 and EMAS –  and PEFC™ and FSC® chain of custody certification, thereby guaranteeing the wood and pulp used as raw materials have been sustainably sourced. With this most recent set of certification, it is now certified to ISO 50001 energy efficiency standards as well.
