KODAK Receives Environmental Honor at Canadian Printing Awards

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., - Kodak was recently named one of the "Most Environmentally Progressive Industry Vendors" in Canada at the annual Canadian Printing Awards. The environmental honor was presented to Kodak by PrintAction magazine during an awards gala held on Nov. 29 at the Palais Royale in Toronto. The Canadian Printing Awards are organized each year to recognize industry achievements and the Canadian printers and industry suppliers that demonstrated excellence in quality printing, environmental initiatives and business development.

The "Most Environmentally Progressive Industry Vendor" award was given to suppliers who based their strategy and initiatives on addressing environmental impact. Kodak was recognized with a silver award for its combination of sustained environmental performance and continuous focus on innovative solutions that contribute to its customers' pursuit of sustainability. Kodak's innovative solutions include, among other things, its recent focus on process free plate technology, which offers printers the high-quality thermal imaging, productivity, and print capabilities they expect from traditional processed plates while completely eliminating processing chemistry and equipment and their associated costs and waste. Helping to align business goals and sustainability goals, KODAK SONORA XP Process Free Plates deliver a more streamlined platemaking process while reducing energy consumption and waste.

"Today's printers have signaled that doing what's right for their business includes reducing their environmental footprint. Many print providers are now making the switch to process free solutions to improve their bottom line and to enhance their environmental stewardship within the industry," said Todd Bigger, Kodak's WW Product Management Director-Graphics. "Kodak is proud to be among those recognized within the graphic communications industry for the 'Most Environmentally Progressive Industry Vendor' award. This honor only reaffirms our continued commitment to developing robust, industry-proven solutions for our customers in the print market."

This year, the Canadian Printing Awards competition received over 200 submissions. A total of 75 awards were handed out during the awards gala, which attracted over 270 attendees. Kodak also showcased other products in its integrated digital printing portfolio, including KODAK NEXPRESS Press Platform, KODAK PROSPER Press Platform and KODAK PRINERGY Workflow at a booth displayed in the Palais Royale ballroom.
