Pitney Bowes Named Visionary in Magic Quadrant for MPS

Press release from the issuing company

New White Paper Released Shares Innovative Approach to Print Less

STAMFORD, Conn., - Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS) a wholly owned subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc., today announced it has been placed by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionary Quadrant of the 2012 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services (MPS) Worldwide.[1] Pitney Bowes believes this placement supports the innovative approach it takes in the managed print services marketplace as the largest hardware-independent provider that helps companies better manage their document flows and print less.

Developed by Gartner to evaluate how well technology providers are executing against their current vision, the Magic Quadrant is a proprietary research tool, which provides insight into a market's direction, maturity and participants.

"MPS is more than rightsizing a fleet of hardware and reducing the cost of printed documents, it is about improving your company's workflow," said Christopher Casinella, vice president, Managed Output & Mail Solutions, PBMS. "Pitney Bowes leverages its document management and process expertise to carefully examine document flows and the processes that drive them to help customers streamline business processes and workflows to print less. This is where the real value lies for customers, not in simply managing an organization's device network and supplies. We focus on the document first and deliver a solution that changes user behavior."

In line with its visionary approach to optimizing document workflow and output, not hardware, Pitney Bowes released a white paper -- "Optimizing Print to Truly Print Less". This paper provides insights on how companies can drive significant efficiencies and savings by optimizing their workflow before locking into long term contracts for print devices. In addition, the paper reveals ways to reduce the number of printed pages necessary within each business process with advanced technology, including Adobe LeanPrint, an enterprise-class, software-only printing solution that dramatically reduces print costs by using an innovative method to reformat document layouts and by reducing ink on a page.
