HP Launches European Publishing Roadshow

Press release from the issuing company

Seminar series takes digital production opportunities to publishers at key centres

BARCELONA, Spain, - HP today announced its programme of European publishing seminars to present the benefits of digital publications printing to leading publishers in major cities.

The first seminar will be  on 13 November in Amsterdam.

Building on the theme, "Discover the next big thing in publishing – print," the first event features presentations by Robert E. Baensch, Director for Publishing Programs, SUNY Global Institute, New York, NY; Jeanette Derksen, of CPI Wöhrmann; Koen Luijten, of Paro; and Geert Gortzak, of WPG.

"With traditional publishing models under great pressure, digital printing offers publishers a cost-effectiveness and  immediacy never before possible," said Paul Randall, EMEA Market Manager, Direct Marketing, Transactional and Publishing Segment, HP. "HP's  solutions can benefit publishers in all sectors, whether for magazines or books, in full colour or black and white, in hard or soft cover formats."

Among the many advantages of digital publishing to be discussed will be printing short-runs profitably; using variable data to meet market needs and add value; helping to reduce distribution costs and eliminating warehousing (this can minimise risk while saving money and waste by printing only what is needed when it is needed); bringing publishers' full catalogues back into print; and freeing up cash.

A second half-day event is scheduled for 21 November in Milan, Italy, with further events planned for London, Paris and Stuttgart in the new year.
