Multi-Press Installation of Digital Information's InkZone Ink-Presets & Closed Loop Solution
 
Weymouth, MA – CMYK Distributors, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Swiss manufacturer Digital Information's products in North America, today announces a major installation of Digital Information's world-renown InkZone Ink-Presets and Closed Loop suite of solutions at The Prolific Group of Graphic Arts Companies in Winnipeg, Canada.

The Prolific Group installed InkZone on five presses from 29" to 40" of various vintages.  For the sake of uniformity, Prolific chose to replace the existing preset and closed-loop solution from the original press manufacturer, as well.  Prolific also chose TECHKON for their scanning instrumentation needs.
 
Impressed with InkZone's intuitive interface, the solution also addresses several shortcomings of their previous closed-loop partner including the ability to preset minimum ink-key opening thresholds, color bar configuration that encompassed the full-width of all sheet sizes, color bar patches that allow for G7 compatible data readings, and a dependable CIP3 iterative learning process.  Prolific is able to use the InkZone solution more fully than their previous system and the buy-in from the press room team is stronger.  In fact, pressmen report that the accuracy of the data being sent to the press is much higher than previously experienced and, in many cases-especially with multi-form jobs that have similar design elements-they have been able to achieve run-to color on first pulls in as few as 150 sheets.

The InkZone solution features BestMatch for measuring density based on LAB/Delta E.  Prolific Graphics recently used this functionality for the first time when running their G7 recertification on two presses.  The BestMatch feature exceeded expectations, allowing press operators to achieve and maintain the entire sheet (40") within G7 tolerances nearly 6 times faster than with a handheld spectrophotometer and spot reading across the sheet.
