Gamut Media and Build A Birdhouse Win Gold Ribbons in Prestigious Industry Competition

Irvine, Calif., – Demonstrating superior creativity, design work and craftsmanship, two Roland businesses took top honors in the annual Golden Image Awards competition held this week at the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas.

In the "Building Graphics – Digital Entries" category, Gamut Media of Brea, Calif. won the gold ribbon for "Saladish," a bold, colorful restaurant interior décor and branding campaign that included floor-to-ceiling wall wraps, POP displays and other graphics produced using the company's VersaCAMM inkjet printer/cutter.

In the "Unique Applications – Digital Entries" category, Build A Birdhouse of East Whiteby, Ontario, Canada, was awarded the gold ribbon for "Creative Birdhouses," a whimsical collection of custom birdhouses decorated in digitally printed vinyl graphics, also created on a Roland VersaCAMM.

Golden Image Awards are widely recognized as the industry's most prominent forum for digital imagers to show off their best achievements for the year. The annual competition celebrates industry-leading excellence and covers almost every item, no matter how complex, created by specialty imaging. Hundreds of entries were evaluated by an elite team of imaging professionals, who awarded gold, silver and bronze ribbons to the best prints.

"Congratulations to Gamut Media and Build A Birdhouse for winning these prestigious awards," said Rick Scrimger, vice president of sales and marketing for Roland DGA Corp.  "Their commitment to excellence, amazing creativity and craftsmanship are truly represented by these projects.  It is an honor to work with them and with so many Roland businesses that apply the power of our technology to their own creative and entrepreneurial pursuits."
