C.P. Bourg Announces Xerox Support for Off-line Finishers

Press release from the issuing company

Leading document feeding, binding and finishing equipment supplier C.P. Bourg today announced that Xerox Corporation will sell and service off-line installations of the new Xerox Dual-Mode Sheet Feeder (BSFEx) by C.P. Bourg and the "x-series" finishers that operate with it.

This is an expanded support initiative for Xerox, which for many years has sold and serviced C.P. Bourg "x-series" finishing products that operate in-line with Xerox presses and production printers, but not Bourg products designed for off-line production.

The Xerox support guideline was extended to cover off-line "undocked" installations of C.P. Bourg's new dual-mode BSFEx Sheet Feeder and the company's other x-series finishers when they are used as part of the new Xerox IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets. The new Bourg dual-mode sheet feeder is a key component of the IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets, a Graph Expo 2012 MUST SEE 'EM award winner in the Postpress Finishing category.

The IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets option applies one-touch prepress and automatic finishing setup to reduce costs and improve production efficiency from multiple print engines. The workflow scheme together with the Bourg dual-mode BSFEx Sheet Feeder enables users to produce booklets easily and securely, whether the finishers are configured in-line or operate entirely off-line.

With the finishing solution, each stack of printed output is brought to the docked or undocked Bourg BSFEx Sheet Feeder with a bar-coded banner sheet matched to that job. The unique bar code contains all the JDF information required to set up even the most complex finishing job in seconds, without operator intervention.

Products covered by the new support guideline include the Xerox Dual-Mode Sheet Feeder (BSFEx), Bourg BCMEx Bleed Crease Module, Bourg BDFEx Document Finisher and Bourg BMEx Booklet Maker. It also includes all Bourg air-table-equipped stack carts used to transfer printed output from most print engines to the BSFEx dual-mode sheet feeder (see Bourg DRUPA stack carts press release).

Support for off-line Bourg x-series products includes Xerox standard service and maintenance for peripheral products certified for use with Xerox presses and production printers. Xerox support is further backed by C.P. Bourg factory support.

At Graph Expo 2012 in Booth 1200, Xerox is demonstrating the efficiency and versatility of its IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets with two Bourg BSFEx-based finishers.

One Bourg dual-mode BSFEx Sheet Feeder and a Bourg BMEx Booklet Maker is operating in-line, accepting jobs directly from a new Xerox iGenâ„¢ 150 Press and from remote print streams, and another BSFEx with a Bourg BDFEx Document Finisher is running off-line as part of the Xerox IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets in a fully standalone mode.
