MCS at Graph Expo: Six New Products for Direct Mailers

Press release from the issuing company

Celebrating the launch at Graph Expo with Superbowl 2013 tickets

GAITHERSBURG, MD - MCS, Inc. is celebrating the culmination of more than a year of R&D with the launch of six important new products designed specifically for the production direct mail industry -- in its booth 3619 at Graph Expo 2012. These products are showcased by demonstrating real-world production jobs that can immediately increase revenue and profits for direct mailers and commercial printers. Superbowl 2013 tickets will be awarded to all purchasers of core technology configurations displayed during the show (eligible products include Eagle, Flowmaster read/print, MCS KM 8000). Even the low-cost Falcon and KM 1250 packages qualify for an award - a 65" LED TV to watch the Superbowl.

Eagle AMS:

The MCS Eagle AMS system is the newest member of the MCS Eagle family. With the smallest footprint of its kind in the industry, it is a fully-automated print head maintenance system incorporated with the Eagle 4.25" print head. For customers looking for minimal operator intervention and the simplest operation, the Eagle AMS:

  • Is a compact, self-contained stationary system.
  • Will automatically retract the nozzle bank, cap, wipe and purge the print head when the system is stopped.
  • Will replace ink with system flush automatically during longer idle time requests.
  • Manages centralized ink feeding - eliminating the need for overhead ink canister placement.
  • Houses the Raptor Controller and Computer in a remote station.

The Eagle AMS will be shown printing in-line with a high speed Flowmaster inserter with full on-envelope graphics and addressing - connected with the MCS Perfect Match system.

MCS 1030 and 1020 family of solid-belt wide-deck vacuum transports:

The 1030 transport base has a 20" wide belt with variable suction to handle high accuracy inkjet printing of 20" x 30" press sheets. The solid belt allows a level printing surface for close proximity of high-resolution print heads such as the Eagle. Variable vacuum control allows the operator to accommodate different vacuum settings for different product sizes. Accurate image placement and repeatability is assured by a pass-through optical sensor at the edge of the sheet.

MCS Perfect Match 8.0

The latest version of the Perfect Match camera system operates with a Windows 7 workstation and brings the latest tracking technology and camera technology to the Perfect Match family. The Virtual Cycle TrackingTM capability is extended up to a maximum of 54 tracking sensors and has Ethernet-based connectivity available for all cameras. Practical for use with all brands of inserting equipment - and capable of managing several printers in single production lines, such as card production lines, the MCS Perfect Match is shown at the booth in a read/print mode combined with an Eagle AMS and Falcon printer producing personalized graphics and addresses at the end of a Flowmaster inserter.

MCS Falcon HP-Based printer and MCS Raptor Software

Announced earlier this week, the MCS Falcon system is the all-new HP-based system which is perfect for handling 600 DPI addressing and printing requirements at a low capital cost. The Raptor Print Controller Software combined with Falcon and/or Eagle printers can drive a total print width of 25" with advanced new features from MCS. Enhanced Rasterization TechnologyTM (ETR) gives crisper graphics and fonts. A PDF workflow option is now available. The Raptor Software Print Controller is driving the Falcon and Eagle AMS printers with read and print applications at the end of the Flowmaster inserter.

MCS KM 1250

The MCS KM 1250 is the latest update to the high volume B&W sheet-fed production laser family from MCS. New features include a faster page throughput of 125 ppm and enhancements to imaging and workflow technology. Perfect for direct mail environments, the KM 1250 can handle high production throughput of coated materials that can be a problem for less sophisticated equipment. At Graph Expo, the system will be producing direct-mail variable data overprinted onto offset printed letters.

Other booth highlights include the MCS KM 8000 digital color press - driving direct mail postcard production and heavy weight coated stock - with in-line UV coating. The MCS KM line of production color digital presses are the most popular choice for direct mailers with demanding requirements for quality and throughput - and the MCS KM 8000 boasts a capital outlay of a mere fraction of competitive systems.

Also being featured in the MCS booth is the Screen USA Truepress Jet520. It is the world's most successful high-speed, single-pass color inkjet printer. The Jet520 prints on rolls of standard paper and uncoated paper - or inkjet paper up to 20.4" wide. Its top printing speed of 420 feet per minute enables fast turnarounds and efficient production of high print volumes suited to direct mailers.

The Flowmaster high-speed inserter offers inserting speeds that are often double those of traditional swing-arm inserters. Along with Perfect Match read/print systems, it is a popular choice for small and large mailing companies looking to lower inserting costs by shortening production times.
