BPIF and NAPM Joint Supply Chain Forum

Press release from the issuing company

The BPIF and NAPM have joined forces to organise a unique print and paper supply chain event this September that will bring print customers, print manufacturers and paper suppliers together for the first time.

Unfolding the future – the changing market for print and paper will be held on 27 September 2012 at the Guoman Tower Hotel in London. An optional dinner will be held at the Hotel on the evening before the forum for delegates who wish to stay overnight.

The speaker line-up includes high profile leaders from all parts of the supply chain. From the paper sector PaperlinX Vice-President David Allen will be speaking, together with UPM-Kymmene Vice-President Thomas Ehrnrooth and Confederation of European Paper Industries Energy & Environment Director Marco Mensink. A print perspective will be provided by Northend Print Solutions CEO Nigel Stubley, with customer insights coming from Tesco Marketing Director David Williams with Katleen Pelsmakers and BSkyB Head of Print Management Mark Cruise. An external perspective from the automotive supply chain will be provided by Jaguar LandRover Head of Research Tony Harper.

BPIF CEO Kathy Woodward says: "This event is well-timed and will address one of the biggest issues facing printing companies today. Although every printer will be all too familiar with the impact of higher paper prices on profit margins, strategic shifts in the global forest fibre sector are about to make this issue far more acute. The Forum will raise awareness of these developments and examine how they can be addressed. We have been able to put together a fantastic programme of speakers, and delegates will also enjoy a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from all parts of the print and paper supply chain."

NAPM Director Tim Bowler says: "With world population set to grow by 30% by 2030, papermakers will increasingly be switching their focus to renewable sources, in terms of both energy production and alternative wood products. Inevitably, price pressures will continue to be a major concern for anyone who buys paper or print media. Printers and paper merchants are equally impacted by these developments and need to be working with each other to take cost out of the supply chain, streamline procurement and enhance the efficiency of distribution processes. This Forum will provide the insights we need to get this important dialogue under way".
