The Silo Effect Can Be Deadly

Press release from the issuing company

Join our free WhatTheyThink webinar, sponsored by SmartSoft, to find out how to minimize the Silo Effect in your business

Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Is Your Business Suffering from the 'Silo Effect?' The session will be led by WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne and held Wednesday, October 3rd, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EDT (-4 GMT).

No-charge registration is available by visiting WhatTheyThink.com and selecting the Webinars tab.

"Many printing companies have put in place a number of purchased and homegrown systems over the years," said Sherburne. "Often, these systems are effective in accomplishing the objective for which they were designed, but equally often, they don't talk to each other and inhibit attempts to improve productivity and increase automation. In this session, you will hear from companies that have eliminated The Silo Effect from their businesses and learn about the benefits they have reaped from a more streamlined workflow.  Join us."

Sherburne will be joined by:

  • Rick Sands, Founder/Creative Director, Sands Creative Group. President of The Fenway Group, a Boston based integrated marketing resource firm, Sands is responsible for identifying and developing new sources of growth that help provide cross media communications to his clients utilizing: design, print, creative services, email, web and measurable results. Leveraging growth through enabling technologies has been a key factor in the Fenway Group's success.
  • Ian Flynn, founder and President of Direct Response Imaging, a 10-employee, San Francisco-based digital printing company specializing in the production of a variety of marketing collateral as well as Photobooks through its Save-A-Tree brand. Ian was formerly President of Envelopes Direct.
  • John Cockrell, Jr, Vice President of Cockrell Enovation, one of the largest full-service commercial printing companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, employing 95 people and booking over $20 million in annual revenue. After starting his career at his family's business Cockrell Printing, John raised financing for and launched the Enovation Group in 2003 to focus on digital printing. After growing the business over 400% in 4 years, he brought the two companies together in 2008.

"Now more than ever before, it is critical for printing businesses to take as many touches out of their workflow as possible to speed work through the shop and increase both customer satisfaction and profits," said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. "This session will help businesses in determining how eliminating silos can make that a reality.  We are pleased that PressWise by SmartSoft is sponsoring this event, allowing us to offer this important educational session to attendees at no cost."

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
